October 27 ~ 31

What We Are Learning This Week:
Theme: Halloween
Letter: Jj
Sight Word:  Here
Math:  Halloween patterning, sorting and classifying, & number writing ( 0-10)
Reading:  Locating and framing sight words, & getting our mouths ready for the first sound in words
Writing:  Spacing between words, return sweep, period at the end of the sentence & use of an uppercase letter at the beginning of the sentence.
Leadership: Teamwork.  

** Thank you for the treasure box prizes.  The kiddos love the new goodies.

** Thank you also to our wonderful room mom, Aubrie, for doing a beautiful job with our pumpkin patch.  The kiddos had a blast finding their pumpkins.

** Thank you parents for bringing in pumpkins (& extra pumpkins) for our pumpkin patch.  

** A big thank you goes out to Emery's mom, Kristen, for bringing in a bunch of extra pumpkins from her work.  We appreciate it!

** Another huge thank you goes out to Sienna's mom, Ms. Nikki, & Everleigh's mom, Mrs. Kayleigh, for all of their awesome work in the classroom.  I so greatly appreciate it!!!

Homework FoldersPlease remember  to bring folders to school daily & to clean them out weekly.  New folders will be provided 2nd trimester (2nd week of November).

Spirit WeekOctober 27th to October 31st.  
Monday: Disney Day.  
Tuesday- Sports Day.
Wednesday- Blast to the Past Day. 
Thursday- Twin Day.  This is our walking field trip to Braswells.  Kiddos are welcome to dress as twins.  If kiddos are wanting to wear costumes to Braswells please bring them to the classroom that morning.  We will be changing into costumes @ 9:50ish. Departing @ 10:15ish. Returning @ 11:30ish.
Friday- Pajama Day.  Please wear shoes & not slippers.

Parent/Teacher Conferences~ Ill be posting a sign up sheet on our classroom door.  Please drop by and fill out a time slot that works best for you.  They are 15-20 minute conferences.  The time slots are 7:30, 12:00, 12:30 & 1:00. At the conference I will go over expectations, progress, behavior & any questions or concerns you may have. Reminders will be passed out at a later date.

Leadership: October's leadership theme is teamwork.  Our definition for teamwork is: working together to get a job done.

** TK Pumpkin Patch Day~ Please bring in a small (not a mini) pumpkin with your kiddos name written on the bottom of the pumpkin by this Thursday.  

School Spirit Day ~Lets win back Leo the Lion this week.  Please remember to wear blue & gold on Friday.
 
Think Pink ~ In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and for many of our ILCS families who have been affected by this disease, we would like to invite everyone to wear pink every Wednesday for the month of October!

Homework Folders~ Please remember  to bring folders to school daily & to clean them out weekly.  New folders will be provided 2nd trimester (2nd week of November).

Appreciation: A special thank you goes out to Brock's daddy, fireman Jake.  He did a fantastic job teaching our kiddos: how to be fire safe, how to use a fire hose & the importance of fire equipment. Thank you also for the fire helmets & goody bags.  The kiddos greatly appreciate it!

Thank you parents for remembering to dress your kiddo in school colors (blue & gold) on Fridays.  Because of their school pride, they get to have Leo the Lion (our school's mascot/ stuffed lion) in our classroom for another week.

This week we will be learning about fire safety.  We will have a special visitor, Brock's daddy, on Friday who will help us know what to do in the event of a fire.  

A special thank you goes out to all who helped make the Lion's Fest a HUGE success!!  Our TK Cake Walk was a big hit and it was awesome to see such yummy treats & happy kiddos! A big thank you to room mom, Aubrie Holloway, for all of her hard work with the Lions Fest & creating our adorable booth. Thank you, thank you!
