June 1~ 9

I cannot believe that it is our last full week of TK together. We have been working hard on our learning this year that we would like to enjoy our last days together doing fun end-of-the-year projects, playing games, reading our favorite books together, and writing about what we have learned in TK.

Thank you so much to all of our parent helpers who have prepped for us all year long! We really appreciate all of the hard work :)

Report cards will be coming home on the last day of school. I hope that you continue to read, study those flashcards, write, and practice math over the summer so that you are even more prepared to be a kindergartner. I also wanted to let you know that Smarty Ants, RAZ-Kids & ABC Mouse will be available during the summer, so you can continue to enjoy the programs at home!

The Last Days of School "Balloon Countdown"

As we enter the last full week of school we will pop a balloon (June 3~ June 8) to determine what the special treat/activity is for the day. Please keep these activities quiet so they will be a surprise to your kiddo.

Wednesday, June 3: "Watch a Movie with Your Stuffed Animal Day".
Please have your kiddo bring a stuffed animal friend to school.  We will be watching a movie with our animal friends. The movie is a surprise so please don't say anything.

Thursday, June 4: "Stinky Feet Day".  No wearing shoes in the classroom.  If possible, please have your kiddo wear socks.

Friday, June 5: "Donuts with Dad" & "Sit By A Friend Day".  Dads, please plan on joining us for a yummy donut and coffee/juice "Open-House Style" with your kiddo.  You may come and go as you please between 7:45 & 8:30.

Monday, June 8: "Field Day". We are having a FIELD DAY with our kindergarten, and TK friends! We will rotate through fun centers outside in the morning from 8:30-10:00. We would love parent helpers on this day! If you are able to help out, please see our awesome room-mom, Ms. Aubrie or awesome classroom helper, Ms. Nikki. Thank you so much for your support! PLEASE LATHER LOTS OF SUNSCREEN ON YOUR KIDDOS!!

Tuesday, June 9th: Assembly & Last Day of TK Celebration. We are having our 3rd Trimester Awards Assembly at 8:15. You will be notified if your kiddo will be receiving an award. We invite you to join us at 10:30 as we read our last book together & pass out awards. THIS IS A VERY LOW KEY CELEBRATION.

Wednesday, June 10: Teacher Work Day. If your kiddo has left anything in the classroom, I will be on campus most of the day.

Thank you SO VERY MUCH for a wonderful week of special notes, flowers, candies, gift cards, jewlery and appreciation! I am so overwhelmed and touched by your generosity. I feel like the luckiest teacher in the world! Thank you again! :)

We enjoyed honoring our mothers on Thursday at our Muffins with Mom.  Thank you for joining us for this very special day.  I hope all of you wonderful mothers enjoyed your day and had a lovely Mother's Day weekend.

Save the Date:  On Friday, June 5th we will be having our special "Donuts with Dad" celebration.  Dads, please plan on joining us for a yummy donut and coffee/juice "Open-House Style" with your kiddo.  You may come and go as you please between 7:45 & 8:30. Exciting news!  We will be having an on-sight field trip on Wednesday May 20 from 9:00- 11:00 AM with Gardenworks for Kids. Gardenworks for Kids is a non-profit organization that will visit our classroom and provide a hands-on experience with gardening and nature that the kiddos will surely enjoy. To make this a success we need your help.  The TK department is asking for a $10.00 donation for each kiddo.  The donation goes towards a 2 hour hands-on experience, a light snack and a bucket, shovel, and seeds.  The easiest way to donate is through the school's on-line Dollar a Day program.  Visit the following site, click on "Donate Now" and fill out the form.
http://www.inlandleaders.com/apps/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=206371&type=d

Another option would be to write a $10.00 check to ILCS with "Dollar a Day-TK" written on the memo line. We would greatly appreciate the donations by Wednesday, May 13th.
