Week 4


Hoping you and your family had a great Labor Day weekend!


Say Cheese! Picture Day is this Friday, Sept. 5th.  Packets will go home this week and photos are typically taken first thing in the morning.  
Please plan on returning the envelope on Friday even if you are not ordering pictures.  

Kiddos did a fantastic job with last weeks homework packet.  T
hroughout the week we will be sharing last weeks creations.   New homework packets will be sent home Tuesday and will be due Friday.


Spanish class is every Tuesday from 10:40- 11:10.

I'm so excited to begin our parent volunteers in the classroom this week.  Please check in with the front office to receive a lanyard before coming to class.

Morning folder helpers will take the purple folder box from the outside table into the classroom and place folders in the appropriate cubby.  Please put any paper items that are already in the cubbies into the folder.  Please remove any paper items from the folders (except for homework....will collect Friday morning & old classwork).

You'll be in charge of one of the centers.  I'll review the assignment with you that day.

What we are learning this week:
Theme:  Colors/Shapes
Letter: Bb
Color:  
Orange
Shape: Square
Sight words: I, see
Reading Strategy: Make your finger match the words & look at the pictures.
Math: One-to-one matching, number recognition, shape recognition: square, simple graphing.
Writing: Learning about the lines on the paper and staying in them. Letter formation (Bb), interactive writing using I & see, and pre-writing.
Leadership:  This month's theme is "Grit".  We are teaching that grit is perseverance and passion for long term goals. We will discuss ways to demonstrate grit at home and at school.
