Here is what we are learning this week:
Sight Word: A
Color: Yellow
Letter: Cc
Shape: Triangle
Reading: Color & shape books. Reviewing all poems.
Please read the paper books that have gone home, & if you are able to, check out our fun Smarty Ants reading program. Information form was sent home awhile ago.
Strategy: Make finger match the word, look at the picture & each letter makes a sound.
Writing: Modeled writing (I can see a.....) & journal writing. Letter formation: A & C and focusing on the lines of the paper and staying on them.
Leadership: This month our theme is "grit". We are teaching that grit is perseverance and passion for long-term goals. We will discuss ways to demonstrate grit at home and at school.
Homework: Homework packet has changed slightly. Packets will be sent home Monday and due Friday.
Scholastic Book Orders: Will be sent home on Monday. This is such a great and inexpensive way to order books for your child and with every order, you are providing a free book towards our classroom library! Just follow the directions on the Order Form Page that will be sent home. Book orders are due next Friday, September 19th. They will arrive in our classroom a few weeks after that date.
Volunteers: Looking forward to seeing everyone this week.
